Structured Care That Fits Your Life
PHP is our most intensive outpatient level of care, designed for people who need structured daily clinical support but do not require an inpatient stay.
You attend treatment sessions during the day and return home each evening. It is a strong fit for people stepping down from residential care, those who have tried weekly outpatient therapy without sufficient progress, or individuals experiencing a mental health crisis that requires more than one or two hours of support per week.
PHP at Magnolia combines individual therapy, group sessions, psychiatric oversight, and skills-based clinical work in a coordinated daily schedule – all delivered in person at our Houston facility. Clients in PHP benefit from the consistency of seeing the same clinical team every day, building momentum in their treatment that weekly appointments simply cannot replicate.
Our In-Person Outpatient program is built for people managing mental health conditions alongside work, school, or family responsibilities.
You meet with your treatment team on a regular schedule, face to face, and receive a personalized care plan tailored to your specific diagnosis and goals. This level of care is appropriate for people who are clinically stable but need ongoing professional support to maintain that stability and continue making progress.
This is not a one-size approach. Every client at Magnolia receives an individualized treatment plan built around their clinical history, current needs, and life circumstances. That plan evolves as your treatment progresses – adjusted by your care team based on how you are actually doing, not just at scheduled check-ins.
Additional Levels of Care
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) – A structured middle ground between standard outpatient and PHP. Clients attend multiple sessions per week and receive both group and individual clinical support.
Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) – The clinical structure of IOP in a flexible remote format, for qualifying clients whose circumstances require it.
Residential Treatment–Available for individuals who require 24-hour supervised care in a more intensive setting.
Not sure which level is the right fit? Our admissions team can walk you through your options and help you make a confident, informed decision. Call (866) 602-4275 – we are available around the clock.
Conditions We Treat
Mental health conditions rarely arrive alone or fit neatly into a single label. At Magnolia, we treat a wide range of diagnoses, and we take the time to understand the full clinical picture before recommending a treatment path. You will not be handed a generic protocol because your diagnosis matches a category. You will receive a plan built for you.
Anxiety is one of the most common – and most undertreated – mental health conditions in the country.
We treat Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder, OCD, and Social Anxiety Disorder. Whether your anxiety shows up as constant worry, intrusive thoughts, physical symptoms, or avoidance behavior, our clinicians have the specialized training to treat it effectively.
Depression and Bipolar Disorder are among the most disruptive mental health conditions a person can live with, and both require
careful, sustained clinical attention. We provide structured care that addresses the full scope of mood disorders – including the periods between episodes that so often go unaddressed in less comprehensive programs.
PTSD, Acute Stress Disorder, and Grief and Loss each require a trauma-informed approach from clinicians who understand both the
neuroscience of trauma and the deeply personal way it shows up in daily life. Our trauma-specialized staff delivers care in an environment built around safety, trust, and client agency.
Additional Diagnoses We Treat
Eating Disorders – Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder
Personality Disorders – Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
Psychotic Disorders – Schizophrenia
ADHD and Anger Management
Visit our What We Treat page for a full breakdown by diagnosis, including how each condition is treated at each level of outpatient care.
Therapy Approaches That Work
There is no single therapy that works for every person or every diagnosis. At Magnolia, our clinicians draw from a range of proven, research-backed modalities – selecting and combining them based on what the clinical evidence supports for your specific situation. Your treatment plan may include one of the approaches below or several working in combination.
The backbone of most outpatient mental health treatment. CBT identifies the thought patterns driving emotional and behavioral difficulties and builds practical, transferable skills for changing them. It is effective for anxiety, depression, OCD, and a wide range of other conditions.
Particularly effective for emotional dysregulation, self-harm urges, and Borderline Personality Disorder. DBT builds four core skill sets: distress tolerance, emotional regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
A structured, evidence-based trauma therapy that helps the brain process distressing memories through guided bilateral stimulation. Widely used and extensively researched for PTSD and complex trauma, EMDR can produce meaningful results in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy for many clients.
Every aspect of care at Magnolia is delivered through a trauma-informed lens. That means safety, transparency, and client agency are built into how we operate at every level – not stated on a website and forgotten in practice.
Progress happens faster when it happens in a relationship. Group therapy builds accountability, reduces isolation, and gives clients the experience of being genuinely understood by others facing similar challenges.
Mindfulness-Based and Integrative Therapies
Including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Yoga Therapy, and Meditation Therapy for clients who benefit from mind-body approaches alongside traditional clinical work. These are not add-ons. They are scheduled components of a structured treatment plan.
Visit our Therapy Options page for a complete list of modalities offered across our programs.
Why Magnolia Health Group?
Purpose-Built for Outpatient Care
Magnolia is designed specifically around outpatient mental health treatment. Our clinical team, daily schedules, staffing ratios, and treatment protocols are all structured for PHP and in-person OP-level care – not adapted from an inpatient model. That focus means the experience you have here is purposefully built for the level of care you are actually receiving.
Personalized Plans, Not Protocol Checkboxes
Before your first session begins, our clinical team conducts a thorough assessment to understand your diagnosis, your history, what has worked before, and what has not. The treatment plan that comes out of that assessment is specific to you. It gets updated as your progress develops – because good clinical care responds to the person in front of the clinician, not just the intake paperwork.
Transparent Clinical Outcomes
We believe you deserve to know whether treatment is working. Magnolia tracks client progress systematically and uses that data to adjust care throughout your time with us – not just at discharge. We are committed to measurable outcomes, and that commitment shapes how our clinical team operates every day. Learn more on our Clinical Outcomes/Statistics page.
A Setting That Lowers Barriers to Care
Accepting most major insurance plans, offering same-day admissions for qualifying clients, and maintaining a pet-friendly facility are not marketing features – they are deliberate decisions to remove the friction that often keeps people from getting care when they need it most. Our admissions team handles insurance verification, walks you through what to expect, and is available 24/7 for confidential consultations.
Our Team and Mission
The clinicians and staff at Magnolia Health Group share a clear, consistent commitment: to provide mental health care that is rigorous, respectful, and genuinely effective for the people who walk through our doors. Every member of our team is selected not only for their clinical credentials but for how they show up – how they listen, how they communicate, and how seriously they take the trust clients place in them.
Our mission is grounded in the belief that outpatient mental health treatment, done well, can produce lasting, measurable change – and that every person seeking care deserves a clinical team that treats them as an individual, not a case. Learn more about who we are and what drives our work on our Meet the Team and Mission and Values pages.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between PHP and outpatient therapy?
Standard outpatient therapy typically means one to two sessions per week with a therapist – enough for people who are clinically stable and maintaining daily functioning. A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a far more intensive level of care. Clients attend structured programming for several hours each day, multiple days per week, working with a full clinical team that includes therapists, psychiatrists, and case managers. PHP is designed for people who need daily clinical support but do not require an overnight stay. If weekly therapy has not been enough, or if you are navigating a mental health crisis, PHP may be the more appropriate starting point. Visit our Levels of Care page to compare all available programs side by side.
How do I know which level of care is right for me?
You do not have to figure that out on your own. When you contact Magnolia Health Group, our admissions team conducts a clinical assessment to evaluate your current symptoms, history, and daily functioning. Based on that assessment, we will recommend the level of care that matches your clinical needs – whether that is PHP, In-Person Outpatient, IOP, or another option. Same-day admissions are available for qualifying clients, so you do not have to wait long to get that clarity. Call (866) 602-4275 or visit our Admissions Process page to learn what the intake process looks like step by step.
Does Magnolia Health Group accept insurance?
Yes. Magnolia accepts most major insurance plans, and our admissions team will verify your benefits before your first appointment so you know exactly what is covered. We handle the verification process so you are not left trying to decode your explanation of benefits on your own. Visit our Insurance and Cost page for a list of accepted plans, or go directly to our Insurance Verification page to submit your information and get a fast answer on your coverage.
What conditions does Magnolia Health Group treat?
We treat a broad range of mental health conditions at multiple levels of outpatient care. This includes anxiety disorders such as GAD, OCD, Panic Disorder, and Social Anxiety – as well as Depression, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Eating Disorders, ADHD, and more. Our clinical team is trained to treat both common presentations and more complex, co-occurring diagnoses. If you are unsure whether we treat what you or your loved one is dealing with, call us or visit our What We Treat page for a full breakdown by diagnosis.
What should I expect on my first day of treatment?
Your first day at Magnolia begins with orientation and an introduction to your primary treatment team. You will review your personalized treatment plan, get a clear picture of what your schedule looks like, and have the opportunity to ask questions before any clinical programming begins. The goal is to make sure you feel informed and prepared – not overwhelmed. We recommend visiting our What to Bring page before your first appointment so you arrive with everything you need. If you have specific concerns about starting, our admissions team is available 24/7 and happy to walk you through it in advance.
